Hello lovely readers! I have been tagged by the lovely LuceRebecca to do this fun tag which was created by TheClassyClassics. Below are the rules of the tag that she has set!
- Link to any of my posts so that I get to know who all have done this tag.
- Tag as many people as you can so that they get to know about this tag
- Answer all the questions honestly, even if any answers are silly
- Have fun and remember to go back to those days!
Question 1: What books were your favourite when you were a kid?
Well, the first proper books that I remember reading were mostly by Enid Blyton. I loved her Twins at St. Clare’s series and her Mallory Towers series – I read these obsessively when I was a child. I also loved The Secret Garden, Little Women and A Series of Unfortunate Events. Of course, my favourite book from my childhood has to be Harry Potter. I read the first Harry Potter book when I was 9 before they were super popular and I still have my Philosopher’s Stone edition with Dumbledore on the back where his beard is brown! I was close to the ages of Harry, Ron and Hermione so I pretty much grew up as they did and the series will always be a big part of my life.
Question 2: What age were you when you read your first book?
I honestly don’t know! My mum and dad read to me from a very early age and I think I started reading myself pretty early but I certainly can’t remember which book it was. I did love a kid’s book called The Rainbow Fish and another called We’re Going on a Bear Hunt so it could have been one of them!
Question 3: What was the best day of your life?
I’m not totally sure what my best day ever has been but in relation to books and reading I loved every time a new Harry Potter book came out – I remember reading the gigantic Goblet of Fire practically in one day – those days were all pretty amazing!
Question 4: What was that moment of your childhood when you felt that you wanted to stay as a child and never grow up?
I think I remember being pretty nervous going from primary to secondary school when I was 10 or 11 and kind of wishing I could stay as a child and not grow up any further! It just felt like a big jump and there were so many new people it was slightly overwhelming!
Question 5: What was your favourite cartoon TV show when you were small?
I liked The Teletubbies when I was really little! But in general I was more of a movie person – I was and pretty much still am a huge Disney fan. When I was around three years old I used to watch The Jungle Book over and over and over! I loved all the classic Disney movies but favourites include The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, The Black Cauldron and Alladin!
Question 6: What is that one thing you loved for the longest time when you were small?
I loved Ballet! I went to ballet classes from the age of three until I was fifteen or sixteen. In my teens I was doing about five dance classes a week – I just loved it! I still love going to the Ballet at the theatre – my favourite dance company is Northern Ballet who are amazingly talented and so innovative.
I shall tag the amazing book bloggers below! Enjoy!
Please do comment with your thoughts on the books I discussed or any of your own childhood favourites!
I adored The Rainbow Fish! I’m sure I’ve still got my copy back home somewhere.
