Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Hello! Time for another Top Ten Tuesday and today we are chatting about books with numbers in their titles! I’ve gone for a mix of books I’ve read and some I’m hoping to read at some point – this was an interesting one as I was curious as to whether some numbers were more frequently used than others! So without further ado…

1. One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

I loved this one – it was one of the books that properly got me into reading YA again and it was honestly just such a fun book to read. It’s smart and addictive and I highly recommend it!

2. The 57 Bus by Dashka Slater

This was a fascinating and harrowing read. It’s about a shocking incident on a bus that changes two teenagers lives and it’s a true story which makes it hit even harder. You can read my review here.

3. Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

This was such a hyped book that I just had to buy it but I haven’t actually gotten around to reading it yet. Music isn’t something I’m hugely passionate about so maybe that’s why I’m hesitating but I will definitely give it a try at some point.

4. The Dress: 100 Iconic Moments in Fashion by Megan Hess

I love fashion and illustration and Megan Hess brings these two loves together beautifully in her collection of stunning fashion illustrations! It’s a really gorgeous book if you are into art or just love looking at pretty dresses then I’m sure you’ll love it!

5. The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith

I’m not hugely into cosy or quirky mysteries generally – I prefer the dark and gritty ones but I read this book as part of a reading challenge and whilst it’s still not totally my thing – it was actually really good! It’s unusual and well written and I can see why it’s such a popular series.

6. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

This, and it’s sequel Crooked Kingdom,  are honestly such a fantastic duology. I had heard great things about it which honestly gave me unattainably high expectations but Six of Crows actually met those expectations. The characters are so intriguing and I loved the band of misfits and criminals feel it had to it!

7. Six Stories by Matt Wesolowski

I read this one last year and it was an unusual and compelling read. It is told in the form of a podcast and follows a mysterious journalist trying to uncover the truth about a teenagers death. It’s an interesting spin on the typical cold case investigation and I actually bought another book from this author after reading this one.

8. The Five by Hallie Rubenfold

I cannot wait to get to this one as soon as I can fit it in. It uncovers the lives of the five women killed by Jack the Ripper. I love true crime but I sometimes worry that a huge amount of attention is lavished on figuring out everything about the killer and his motivations and very little time is spent on the victims. I’m hoping this book will tip the scales a little and start a new wave of true crime.

9. A Thousand Perfect Notes by C. G. Drews

This searing YA novel about a musical prodigy and his violent mother is a difficult read at times and broke my heart again and again. It’s a beautiful story and the characters really got to me. You can read my review here.

10. The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith

I love the Disney version of the story of Cruella De Vil’s quest to turn puppies into a fur coat and the book is equally fantastic! Such a fun and adorable story and gave us one of the scariest high fashion villains of all time!
