You just boarded a flight to New York.
There are one hundred and forty-three other passengers onboard.
What you don’t know is that thirty minutes before the flight your pilot’s family was kidnapped.
For his family to live, everyone on your plane must die.
The only way the family will survive is if the pilot follows his orders and crashes the plane.
Enjoy the flight.
As someone who is already terrified of flying and therefore avoids it at all costs, the plot of Falling is basically my worst nightmare! However, as an intense and unbelievably compelling thriller, it hits the mark one hundred percent! The premise is simple – an experienced pilot finds out, whilst in the air, that his family has been taken prisoner and the only way they will be allowed to survive is if he crashes the plane, killing all onboard. It’s a horrifying either/or and makes for a truly exhilarating read!
The author of Falling is a flight attendant herself which lends the book a brilliant authenticity that only makes it feel all the more scarily real. This is one of those ‘read in one sitting’ books that you genuinely cannot put down. It’s a very cinematic read which will make a fantastic high octane film. The characters are relatable in a way that puts the reader right on the edge of their seat as the action unfolds and we find out the fate of the people on the plane and the pilot’s kidnapped family on the ground. I don’t want to give anything away about how things develop but I highly recommend Falling to anyone looking for a fast, furious and adrenaline-filled read this summer!
Thank you so much to Anne Cater of Random Things Blog Tours for inviting me on this tour and organising it. I kindly received a copy of the book from the publisher. My review is entirely my own honest opinion.
