Review:

I was so hooked by the premise of The Hive which is incredibly thrilling. At the beginning of the book we find Charlotte Goodwin live streaming on Instagram as she asks the viewers to decide whether she should kill her ex-boyfriend after already killing his girlfriend. Overall I enjoyed reading the story of what led Charlotte to do what she did.

This is a pretty bonkers book to be fair and takes a number of intriguing twists and turns. It will likely provoke a strong reaction in its readers as we journey back and follow Charlotte through the evolution of why Charlotte has decided to take the dramatic action she has against Lincoln, her ex. The story is at its strongest when it delves into the bond of friendship between Charlotte and the three women she relies on to ground her. The strength of female friendship is a powerful theme throughout. The Hive is an addictive ‘read in one sitting’ kind of thriller which asks the reader to become the judge, jury and executioner.
