Review:

I love a twisty tense thriller and Anatomy of an Alibi fit the bill straight away. You are thrown into the action pretty much immediately with the intriguing set up of these two women who don’t know each other teaming up to investigate the husband of one of them. Ben, the husband, is what connects Camille and Aubrey, but things become a whole lot more complicated when Ben is found murdered and they both think they require an airtight alibi. The structure of the narrative works very effectively for the story, being split into before, during, and after the alibi, with a few flashbacks thrown in to shed some light on crucial past events. It makes for a very addictive read which you can easily fly through in just a couple of sittings, caught up in the intricacies of what connects all these characters. It is very tricky to know who can be trusted and who is lying through their teeth and there were a few twists that definitely took me by surprise, which I enjoyed immensely. I don’t want to give too much away, for fear of spoiling the way things unfold but I will just say that I thought the ending in particular was very effective and fitting, which is often tricky to pull off in a thriller. If you enjoy bingeable and entertaining thrillers then I would absolutely recommend picking up Anatomy of an Alibi.
