Review:
I’m so pleased to be part of the blog tour for this slender yet incredibly powerful novel – it deserves an avalanche of acclaim! Loved and Missed draws its reader in to the lives of these women beautifully and explores some complex and intense subjects with grace and intelligence. It is written with a deftness and confidence that makes every page sing with emotion. The book is very much character-led, as opposed to full of action – it is about loss, addiction, relationships and above all, love. I felt so invested in Ruth and Lily’s story from the very beginning. Eleanor, Ruth’s troubled daughter, is a constant and unrelenting presence in both Ruth’s mind and the book itself – the complexities and challenges of motherhood are at the heart of this story. I really couldn’t recommend Loved and Missed more highly – beautiful, heartbreaking and written with an exquisitely light touch.
