Summary:

Isaac stands alone on a bridge and screams.

Something screams back.

And that, like everything which follows, is unforgettable.

This is a book about a lot of things – grief, hope, friendship, love. It’s also about what you’d do if you stumbled into the woods at dawn, found something extraordinary there, and decided to take it home.

It’s a tale that might seem familiar. But how it speaks to you will depend on how you’ve lived until now.

Sometimes, to get out of the woods, you have to go into them. Isaac and the Egg is one of the most hopeful, honest and wildly imaginative novels you will ever read.

Review:

I’ve been seeing ‘that egg book’ all over bookstagram and book Twitter in recent months and everyone seems to absolutely love it! Happily I can now add myself to the Isaac and the Egg fan club! It is an incredibly special book that I truly believe will deeply affect everyone that reads it. I don’t want to say too much about the plot because I would hate to spoil the journey of reading this gem for anyone but at its heart, it is about loss and what it means to be human. It is written with humour, warmth, wit and a delicate touch that imbues this sad yet beautiful book with genuine emotion. Isaac and the Egg is really unlike anything else I’ve read and Bobby Palmer is an author whose work I will be eagerly anticipating from now on. Please do pick up this moving and oddly life affirming book – you will not regret it.

I kindly received a copy of the book from the publisher. My review is entirely my own honest opinion.
