Review:
I was completely hooked by the premise of The Collective – a secretive group of woman seeking revenge and justice for their dead children. Pleasingly I can confirm that The Collective completely lived up to my high expectations for it. I was gripped by Camille’s story and her desperate desire to avenge her daughter.
This is a dark story that will get under the skin of any reader. There are no easy answers to the issues of morality and the ‘an eye for an eye’ method of justice. The narrative is almost entirely from Camille’s point of view and her head is a pretty chilling place to be. She is driven by a need for violence and I couldn’t help but feel immense sadness and empathy for her. The plot took some fabulously unexpected turns and, without giving anything away, I was particularly impressed with the confidence and bravery of the ending. The Collective is unflinching, dark and propulsive. I would highly recommend to any reader of crime/thrillers!

This is a new book and author to me but I just love the premise of this story. It’s great that it has some unexpected turns because I just hate a thriller that is too predictable. I like to be kept on my toes haha
